Domestic Abuse Awareness Presentation at Unity Campus!
Last week Domestic Abuse Education spoke at a Domestic Abuse Awareness Session held by unity campus in Cambridge. In the session, Sharon addressed several businesses interested in better understanding Domestic Abuse, and the role the employer plays in supporting victims past or present.
Sharon campaigns across the UK to raise awareness of domestic abuse and educate businesses on the positive impact they can make when they have the knowledge to do so. The presentation, currently going through CIPD accreditation, is now being offered to businesses as a course comprising two parts.
Why is Domestic Abuse Education important?
Domestic abuse education is essential because it helps businesses understand the dynamics and consequences of domestic abuse. Domestic abuse affects people of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, and socio-economic backgrounds, and can have serious and long-lasting consequences on victims’ physical and emotional well-being.
The presentation delivered by Domestic Abuse Education can help businesses and individuals within those businesses recognise the signs of abuse and learn how to take action to prevent it. In addition, it can also help survivors understand that they are not alone, and provide them with the resources and support they need to leave abusive relationships.
Additionally, domestic abuse education can help to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding this issue. Better education on the issue can also promote healthy relationships and can potentially prevent domestic abuse from occurring in the first place.
Overall, domestic abuse education is crucial for promoting safety, preventing violence, and supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
