Domestic abuse is everyone’s business...
Sharon’s Policy is a FREE template domestic abuse policy and guidance notes, which was first created in 2021 in collaboration with the Domestic Abuse Alliance, Employers Initiative on Domestic Abuse and HR Dept, in order for businesses to start their journey in supporting their employees.
The policy and guidance notes work together. Employers can download and implement “Sharon’s Policy”, whilst referring to the guidance notes which will help each business create a domestic abuse policy that works best for their business.

This policy is annually reviewed and updated inline with government legislation changes and we would like to send you the latest version as and when an update is available
The policy calls for businesses to take up four key measures:
Recognise
Implementation of a domestic abuse policy in the workplace to help employers spot the signs of abuse
Respond
Respond appropriately to each situation: take the disclosure seriously and don’t be judgmental
Record
Accurate recording of domestic abuse disclosures by the workforce
Refer
Proactive signposting to specialist support services i.e. for legal, practical or emotional assistance
