Sharon's Policy
Domestic abuse is everyone’s business...
Sharon’s Policy is a FREE domestic abuse policy template, developed in collaboration with Domestic Abuse Alliance, Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse and The HR Dept, in 2021. This initiative was created to assist businesses of all sizes and in all sectors, in supporting employees affected by domestic abuse.
The policy is accompanied by practical guidance notes to help employers tailor the document to suit their organisational needs. When downloading access is also given to our most recent initiative Protecting Every Future, which focuses on adapting family-friendly policies within the workplace.

This policy is annually reviewed and updated inline with government legislation changes and we would like to send you the latest version as and when an update is available
The policy calls for businesses to take up three key measures:
Recognise
Implementation of a domestic abuse policy in the workplace to help employers spot the signs of abuse
Respond
Respond appropriately to each situation: take the disclosure seriously and don’t be judgmental
Refer
Proactive signposting to specialist support services i.e. for legal, practical or emotional assistance
